News on Euston OSD

A small plant nursery is being developed at Global Generation’s garden in the heart of Somers Town. The nursery, funded by Euston Master Development Partner Lendlease, will serve as a platform for a new horticulture training programme for young people, giving them real life practical opportunities with a focus on reducing plastic use, peat-free growing and using organic practices and wildlife friendly techniques.

The setup of the plant nursery and training is part of a long-term strategy to support greening in the local area on both temporary and permanent land, as well as upskilling local people to enter into local green jobs and fostering local connections. In 2021 the partnership will explore the feasibility of growing plants and trees which will eventually populate the streets of the Euston area, in order to ensure that they can be maintained every step of the way for long-term sustainability.
