News on Euston OSD

Over the past year. the Lendlease Euston team has been working with The London Borough of Camden, The Institute for Global Prosperity at UCL and Camden Giving to develop a new wellbeing index with a group of Citizen Scientists for the Euston Area.

The idea behind the project is that by training local residents, including young people, in research methods like photo elicitation and walking ethnographies, we can better understand the challenges and opportunities facing existing communities in Euston. This will allow the project to prepare for positive change in the future – especially when it comes to issues like open space.

The Citizen Scientists came together on 27th May to present their initial research and priorities for living “the good life”. The event was a hybrid virtual/in person event attended by community leaders, Camden Council leader Georgia Gould, and Euston project director Phil Gould.

Highlights from the research included a ‘smell map’ of Chalton Street, as well as seven ‘wellbeing measures’ that could be used to understand the outcomes of development at Euston, and to guide decision making throughout the process.
